Biography

Prof. Dr. Sezgin BAKIRDERE was born in Elazig (Turkey) on 01.06.1980.

He graduated from Fırat University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Chemistry in 2001 and completed his Master's Degree in Analytical Chemistry in 2003. During his PhD in Middle East Technical University in 2009, Dr. Bakırdere performed some of his doctoral education at the Canadian National Research Center.

Dr. Bakırdere became Associate Professor in 2012 and Professor in 2017 and he has worked as an executive and researcher in 18 scientific research projects supported by various institutions / organizations. Dr. Bakırdere has 150 articles published in internationally respected journals, 2 books published by internationally respected publishers, and 142 presentations presented at national/international symposiums, conferences and congresses.

He has received over 1250 citations to his publications published under SCI/SCI-E journals and Bakırdere's h index value is 20. Dr. Bakırdere has won 11 different awards from national/international platforms for his high-level scientific studies and was elected to be associate member of Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) in 2015. In addition, Dr. Bakırdere was selected as a member of the Global Young Academy in 2018, which has 200 members worldwide. His academic life is going on at Yıldız Technical University, Chemistry Department. Dr. Bakırdere also serves as the Central Laboratory Manager and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences.

Dr. Bakırdere is married and has two children.
