"Materials-driven Physics"
Duygu is a Research Programme Expert in the Physical Sciences and Engineering Unit in the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA), since 2019 and Scientific Programme Expert at the Technological and Research Council of Turkey, TUBITAK, since 2017.
Before joining the TUBITAK, Duygu worked for two years as an Ass. Prof. in Artvin Coruh University, Turkey, after completing a four-year postdoctoral fellowship in the Physics Department at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), working on the materials exhibiting strongly correlated electron phenomena.
She completed her both Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Condensed Matter Physics in Cukurova University, after she graduated from Black Sea Technical University in 2003. Her research addresses strongly correlated electron phenomena in novel transition metal, rare earth, and actinide based oxides and intermetallic compounds.
